Preventative Maintenance

Issues and minor problems are easier to diagnose and fix when a system is up and running. Identifying and addressing these issues can prevent bigger and more costly problems in the future. The thorough assessment performed by Automatic Control Services will help to pinpoint these things. Over 35 years of experience gives Automatic Control Services the ability to provide recommendations in regards to improving system performance, efficiency, and operations.

Two-Part Preventative Maintenance Review

The main idea behind a Preventative Maintenance Checkup Review is to identify issues before they become costly problems, or worse- emergencies. The thorough two-part assessment performed by Automatic Control Services will help to pinpoint these things.

Part One: Site Visit

The site visit involves going to all stations and checking all of the Remote Telemetry Units (RTUs). ACS will verify the calibration of field equipment, control operation, and data communications.

A site visit typically includes:
  • Verify calibration of analogs.
  • Test discretes stem to stern.
  • Test alarms through to notification.
  • Verify correct notification.
  • Test antenna system where applicable.
  • Verify power supplies.
  • Secure all connections.
  • Test UPS.

Part Two: Systems Report

After the site visit, ACS will provide the customer with a comprehensive evaluation of overall system health. A complete systems summary will also be included as well as a list of recommendations. Written and electronic copies of the report will be provided.
